The Great Plains Zoo is a major area visitor attraction, with themed, immersive experiences that bring you close to an amazing array of exotic animals.

The Great Plains Zoo's 45-acre campus is home to more than 850 animals representing 156 different species.

The Zoo features a new Asian Cat exhibit with Amur Tigers, Snow Leopards and Pallas' Cats. The African Savannah recreates how animals like Grevy's Zebras, Reticulated Giraffes, East African Crowned Cranes, and Ostriches live together near an African watering hole.

The Hy-Vee Face-to-Face Farm offers feeding and petting opportunities for animals such as San Clemente Island Goats, Jacob's Sheep and Dexter Cattle. While at the Zoo, take a ride on the Sanford Carrousel, the Savannah Express Train, or a camel!

The Zoo is complemented by the Delbridge Museum of Natural History, which houses a one-in-the-world collection of 150 mounted animals, including 36 "vanishing species."

The Zoo is open Year-round, and hosts a variety of in-house and traveling education programs such as ZooTot Classes, ZooMobiles, ZooZnoozes and summer ZooCamps.
