Sidewalk and Street Clearance Reminder

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Forestry Division reminds property owners to check tree clearance over streets and sidewalks. Sioux Falls city ordinance requires a minimum of 10 feet of clearance over sidewalks and 12-16 feet over streets. Hedges and bushes should also be checked to make sure they are cleared back to the edge of the sidewalk. Keeping trees and hedges at proper clearance levels will make pedestrian and vehicle travel safer in Sioux Falls. The cooperation of property owners is greatly appreciated.
